in front of the camera
Today was just me & my camera. And whomever else might be watching from their cars at the top of the parking garage. Ha!
It was cold & awkward, but tooootally fun & awesome & FREEING!!! This piece of myself has been in hibernation, but she’s waking up. Coming back to life.
Don’t get me wrong… there were LOTS of bad photos in the mix. Especially as it was just me & the self-timer. Blurry pics, triple chins, and tooootally awkward humaning.
And it’s always a bit of a shock to check my screen and see a thicc girl staring back. I’m still a different shape in my mind, even though I’ve been carrying more weight for years. Yes, I miss my cheekbones, solo chin, and semi-flat tummy.
But the more I check myself out in the mirror & step in front of the camera, the more I see HER. The badass sensual creature that lives within & is working her way back out.
And I grin ear to ear each time I witness that piece of me. Double chins be damned.
So today I pumped up the music & let that bitch PLAY.
