Happy TEN YEARS to us!

Yesterday was our TENTH ANNIVERSARY!!! A full DECADE together, and married for over half of that.

I’d originally started to write this super-long story of US. How we’d dated before, but the timing just wasn’t right, and we weren’t right for each other back then, but how we just FIT together now.

But I think that’s just PART of it. Because the truth is… I could write down every little anecdote of ours, and it still wouldn’t be enough to describe how & why we are soooo frickin PERFECT for one another. And why I love him so frickin much.

I don’t know how to describe how he simply feels like HOME to me.

How he gives me the freedom & support to simply BE mySELF, 💯. And how I do the same for him.

How there’s a me, and a him, and an US. And there’s room for all of that. All of our individual strengths & faults & quirks, as separate people AND as a couple. We’re just… ourSELVES. And that feels soooooo frickin GOOOOOOD.

And how in a country/world full of uncertainty, we are 💯 certain in/of each other. How, even as we start to doubt everything ELSE in our lives, we are totally rock solid in each other.

And how that feeling of safety allows each of us our individual struggles & growth & development, knowing we’re safe within our relationship to do so. How the love & support of the other person truly eases our suffering, allows us to be NON-performative, truly at ease with one another… whether it’s a good day or bad, we can just be ourselves. Which also leaves room for candid questions, pure honesty, growth & development.

Plain & simple… being with Erik has made me a better version of mySELF than without. And I think he’d say the same of me.

So CHEERS to our first 10 years together, with many more to come. 💕
